Shifting Responsibility

Earlier this week I shared a story about how an asshole I hooked up with took his condom off during sex without my knowledge and re-entered me.  I discussed how I waited for the guy to get tested, and that in the end, I learned that he was HIV positive.

I got a lot of great comments and responses to this post.  But two in particular stand out in my mind:

• What he did was wrong by taking away your power of choice in that situation and potentially exposing you to STDs, but why didn't you go and immediately go get tested, you shift the responsibility to him to get tested for you?, and then you proceeded to play a game on him to find out the truth?, why?
• The responsibility should not have been shifted. Medicine can be taken right away (usually in emergencies) that will prevent the inoculation of HIV and other STDs.

Deserves an Oscar (Jensen Atwood)

In short, the fourth episode of Noah's Arc sees a broke Noah (wearing the pastel mille feuille couture deconstructed ladie's sweater given to him by Romeo in episode 2) scrambling for money in order to avoid eviction.  Instead of taking money from his boyfriend Wade, he instead sells his car.  But behind the scenes Wade pulls a few strings to (1) get Noah a job re-writing a script at Paramount Studios, and (2) have a surprise birthday party for him. 

Chance begins taking "thug lessons" from the basketball jersey wearing T Money.  But T Money abandons Chance in the 'hood when the "po po" pull them over for a search.  Alex quits his job to start his own non-profit HIV/AIDS prevention clinic that caters to Blacks and Latinos. 

All in all a cute episode.  But it left me asking the following question:

I just discovered that my visitor had taken advantage of me and took the condom off and entered me without my permission.  I reached back and felt his bare dick in my ass.  I turned around and looked at his bare dick, and then at the condom on the floor.

I looked at his face.  I looked at his dick.  And I looked at the condom.

A look of confusion came over my face.

I looked at his face.  I looked at his dick.  And I looked at the condom.

I frowned.

I looked at his face.  I looked down at his dick.  And then I looked down at the floor with the condom.

What he did had finally sank in.  This bitch had just exposed me to HIV and scores of other STDs.

I looked at his face one last time.

Two sets things met when I looked at his face this last time.  First, our eyes.  Our eyes met and he had the most pathetic doe look--like, Did I do something wrong?  But his rhetorical question was answered when the second set of things met: my fist and his face.

Years ago, I talked to a guy on the telephone chat line and he sounded simply Amazing.  Well spoken, articulate, and a masculine voice that was a little raspy.  What turned me on about him was his ability to move easily and seamlessly between intelligent banter and raunchy sex talk--something that not very many men can, or feel comfortable doing.

If that wasn't enough, he described himself as 6 feet tall, with smooth chocolate skin, muscles, and a big dick.  After a few conversations on the telephone, it didn't take me much to give him an enthusiastic invitation to my apartment.

(above) a treasure trail?

I was obsessed with finding treasure when I was a 6 years old.  I remember one time I made a treasure map, complete with directions, the number of paces to walk, and the infamous X that marked the spot.  I went walking in a large grassy lot near my childhood home.  And I was determined to find treasure.  After I had followed my treasure map, I stopped and started digging my shovel into the ground.  I dug and dug and after I got about one foot deep into the ground, I saw something.

Still In The Running: Noah's Arc

I have a new routine for Wednesday nights:  America's Next Top Model with Tyra Banks followed by Noah's Arc. 

One of my favorite moments in ANTM is when Tyra gets melodramatic and hands out the photos and softly, but confidently says, Congratulations.  You're still in the running towards becoming America's Next Top Model.  And no more appropriate words could be said about the third episode of Noah's Arc. 

Noah Speaks

There was a bit of a hullabaloo when actor Darryl Stephens (Noah from Noah's Arc) said in an interview with Gay Chicago that 

It's [Noah's Arc] on a gay network and on cable. I don't know how many black people are going to see it. I think LOGO is geared toward gay people and people who like gay people, so I feel that people who are going to watch the show are already over that hump. I think black people will have some issues with it if they happen to see it, but I hope they enjoy the show.

In a post, Rod 2.0 wished that Darryl had of clarified his comments, because on their face it appeared that he was saying all the gays are White and all the Blacks are straight. 

Well, thanks to sex reporter Steve out in La-La land, Sex and the Second City has footage of a Halloween partying Darryl Stephens responding to his Gay Chicago interview.  Is it just me, or does he (and fellow actor Rodney Chester who plays Alex) seem just a tad bit annoyed that he was misunderstood?  And does this response really clarify his original statment?
